Directions
- Melt butter with olive oil in a Dutch oven over medium heat. Cook onion, bell pepper, and jalapeño 6 to 8 minutes until softened.
- Add garlic, flour, cumin, smoked paprika, and chili powder; stir for 1 minute.
- Add corn, potatoes, and broth. Bring to a simmer and cook 18 to 22 minutes, until potatoes are tender.
- Blend 2 to 3 cups of chowder until smooth and return it to the pot. Stir in milk and cream and heat gently until steaming.
- Season with salt, pepper, and lime juice. Serve with cilantro and green onion.

Food safety & storage
Refrigerate within 2 hours. Blend hot liquid carefully. Reheat leftovers to 165°F and avoid repeated cooling and reheating of the full pot.
Leftovers & make-ahead
Refrigerate 3 to 4 days. Reheat gently over medium-low heat, adding broth or milk if the chowder has thickened.
