  1. 1. Heat a large skillet over medium-high. Add beef and onion and cook, breaking meat into small crumbles.
  2. 2. When no pink remains, drain excess fat if needed.
  3. 3. Add taco seasoning and water. Simmer 3 to 5 minutes until liquid coats the beef rather than pooling.
  4. 4. Finish with lime juice. Cool and portion for tacos, burritos, bowls, quesadillas, salads, or loaded potatoes.
